If you're in significant pain or anxious about emergency treatment, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation to keep you comfortable. Both options are available for adults and children. Let us know when you call so we can prepare.

Emergency dental FAQs
How do I arrange an emergency dental appointment?
Call 250-338-2599 and describe your symptoms. Our reception team will check the schedule and explain how to arrange an assessment. Please contact us before coming in.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Common dental emergencies include severe toothaches, broken or chipped teeth, broken crowns and fillings, abscesses or swelling, and knocked-out teeth. If you are in pain or have suffered dental trauma, call us - we will advise you on next steps.
What should I do if I knock out a tooth?
Call Crown Isle Dental immediately at 250-338-2599. Keep the tooth moist - hold it by the crown (not the root), rinse gently if dirty, and place it in milk or between your cheek and gum if possible. Time is critical for knocked-out teeth.
What should I do if I have a broken tooth?
Rinse with warm water, apply a cold compress to reduce swelling, and call 250-338-2599. Save any pieces you can find. A broken tooth is not always painful, but exposed inner tooth structure can decay quickly, so it should be assessed even if it does not hurt.
Can I use sedation for an emergency appointment?
Yes. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation are available for emergency appointments. Let us know when you call so we can arrange this in advance. Oral sedation requires a driver; nitrous oxide does not.
Do you accept new patients for emergency care?
Yes. Let reception know if this will be your first visit so we can explain what information to bring and check appointment availability.
